Community Works (Northumberland) Ltd - Projects

Services we offer:
 

Handyman Service

A Handyman service available to the elderly, disabled, disadvantaged, single parent/ low income families. There is a small charge of £2 booking fee and £5 per hour will be charged. A qualified and experienced member of staff will attend a client’s home and carry out DIY/Odd jobs. Volunteer roles are created to aid our handyman in his work which compliments the service as well as creating vital roles for volunteers looking to extend their skills in order to broaden their horizons career wise.

Gardening Service

 A seasonal Gardening Service, providing the eligible individual with a trained gardener to attend a property in order to service and maintain the garden. This service will run seasonally for 6 months of the year and will be available to those eligible, for a nominal charge. Appointments can be reserved via telephone and eligibility can be assessed.

Community RePaint

Reusing paint in the community.
Community RePaint is a UK-wide network of over 60 community based organisation collecting reusable, domestic paint from household waste recycling centres, retailers, decorators and the paint trade. This is then passed on to individuals and families in social need, charities, community groups and voluntary groups for art and redecorating projects. We ask for a small donations for each tine of paint depending on the size.

Community Works operates from the Stobhill Community Link office based on Shields Road in Stobhill, Morpeth. We are situated on a direct bus route leading into Morpeth Town Centre. Community Works offers a friendly atmosphere and has a compassionate approach towards all service users.

Our services operate within a 15 mile radius from Stobhillgate, Morpeth. “Special arrangements” can be negotiated for those outside of this area (within what we deem a reasonable distance

Befriending Service

Isolation can seriously impact upon a person’s life. Whether this is by having an effect on a person’s mental health or affecting their physical health due to health issues being neglected. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with this project. If you are interested and feel you have what it takes then please contact us.
